What is E&O Insurance?

Protect yourself and your business

Errors and omissions insurance, also known as E&O insurance, may help protect you and your business from lawsuits where you might be at fault for making a mistake while providing professional travel services. Some E&O insurances also provide coverage for personal liability. Before purchasing E&O insurance, be sure to read the plan completely and ask your insurance agent any questions regarding your policy.

Do I have to buy insurance?

Not at all! The option is entirely up to you. If you are part of a host agency, franchise, or other type of agency, they may provide a layer of E&O insurance protection for you and/or your business within their fee schedules. However, those insurance plans typically come with a high deductible and have certain parameters to cover the agency, not just you individually. Just like with travel insurance, E&O insurance is highly recommended.

Ready to get started?

Here is a list of some of the top-rated travel industry E&O companies to help ease your search. There is no "right answer" when it comes to choosing an insurance carrier, it has to make the most sense to you and your business model.

We recommend checking out each insurance company and reaching out to your business insurance agent to find the one that is best suited to your needs! Some may include additional coverage for cybersecurity, events, and even independent contractors. Always be sure to talk with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.
